Mykola Tomenko: The Verkhovna Rada supported Development of Children and Professional Sports in Ukraine
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the Bill on Amendments to Article 12 of the Law of Ukraine "On Payment for Land" (re Sports Buildings of Physical Culture and Sports Establishments, Bases of Olympic and Paralympic Training) (Reg. No.0908) as a basis and in its entirety by 392 votes.
The Law envisages exemption from the land tax of the national establishments of physical culture and sports, sports buildings of enterprises and organizations used on purpose, sports bases of Olympic and Paralympic training, the list of which is ratified by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
As one of the authors of the Bill, Mykola Tomenko stressed the importance of supporting physical culture and sports under the conditions of a complicated socio-economic situation in Ukraine. He believes that the said Parliament´s resolution will promote proper training of national Olympic and Paralympic teams, and support children sports schools and other sports objects in Ukraine.
